The Grade 6,7 and 8's Youth Symposium Trip!

On Wednesday, May 17th, 2016, the grade 6's, 7's and 8's took a trip to the Cineplex Cinemas near the Square One mall. We attended a youth symposium put together by Hope 24/7. We were one of the largest groups to attend the symposium. At the event, we were told about by-standing and bullying.  We were also told real life scenarios that have actually happened to people. We met a 19 year women named Shayley who was assaulted by her own step-father at the age of 14 and we also met a bunch of other people who really inspired us to stand up and not be a bystander and just make us realize how we would feel if these kind of scenarios had happened to us or our family members. We also watched some music videos that other schools had made including Earnscliffe's video, How We Livin''. After a while, we had lunch. We enjoyed some pizza and chips while watching an episode of "Fresh Prince of Bel-air" on the big screen. After we were done eating, we continued with our talk about bullying and we also watched a video of famous actors like, author of "The Fault in our Stars", John Green, famous actress, Jamie Lee Curtis and many more talking about bullying and just giving us inspiration. We discussed different problems/questions that the audience had and we thought of ways we could also prevent bullying and shred them with everyone. We had a lot of fun, at some times times we laughed and at some times we just really thought about bullying and how serious it is. Overall it was a great trip and let's prevent bullying together! Check out their Youtube channel: Hope 24/7

The Astonishing Debates at Earnscliffe Senior Public School

The Astonishing Debates at Earnscliffe Senior Public School

On Friday April 15th 2016, it was a regular day for most of the school but not for one club. It was the spectacular debates of 2016 from the debate Club. Our own astounding school Earnscliffe was the host. It was a mesmerizing day. A lot of school participated in the debate and all are deserving. We have interviewed one of the chief  Director of this event. Mr. Gagu one of our stunning grade 6 teachers. He said " the students loved it and they were into it also this year  the other teams were not prepared but had good  Academic focus" - Mr.Gagu.  We had also interviewed one of our stupendous competitors and one on the girls/ boys that had represented our school Hamisha from 7F4. She had said "  It was boring and people were cheating. There was food and also it was nerve wracking because there were a lot of competitors and schools. One of the girls said some points information but she got denied 3 times. Some drama happened it was a 7/10. It was the first year so there is room for improvement. Practices were good for the club and the MVP got the juniors won championships. But unfortunately the seniors got none championships but they had most points". - Hamisha 7F4  Overall we all think that it's was an astonishing day and all are deserving of the titles and thank you to all the competitors for representing Earscliffe at there full potential. We all appreciate it.
